I love to create work that brings people joy and allows them to express themselves every day. The creation of each piece is also a journey that challenges and inspires me.

Each piece of handmade jewelry tells more than one story: its own story of creation, and the story you write when you wear your Ruinette pieces as you move through the world.

Biographie

Handcraftsmanship goes back generations in my family. Though I’ve spent 15 years in tech, shaping digital products for leading brands, I made my return to handmade in the form of metalsmithing. I’ve studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and also at GRS Tools Training Center, with a master engraver, who helped refine my stone-setting techniques and overall process. In 2024, I moved my studio from New York City to Geneva with my dog, Edie.

Process

I utilize the lost wax casting method, a 6000+ year old process, and hand-carve each piece, setting stones and applying finishing touches myself.

Inspiration

Fascinated by everything around me, textures and reliefs bring structure to my creations. As I travel down the Alps, I find myself in Nice, inspired by the sunset and pretty pastel architecture.

After a decade working in tech, nearly every product I’d built or improved no longer existed. I longed to create something tactile and of permanence. What could be more permanent than stardust?

Ruinette is meant to be worn, to celebrate the absurdity of life, and the unexpected places we find the glimmers that keep us going ✨
